What you should know about sexual harassment at work

If you believe you are being sexually harassed at work, or if you believe someone you know is, you or they may be suffering in silence because of the fear of retaliation on the part of your employer. While you may know that retaliation is illegal, there are numerous ways in which an employer may retaliate. Moreover, what if you have to go up against them in court and they have the ability to hire a formidable legal defense and you are left to face the consequences?

When you face discrimination, don't back down

It is a sad fact that people still discriminate against one another. Without that hate and judgment, every person would be given their fair chance to realize the success that was once the cornerstone of the American dream. For now, when discrimination, harassment and wrongful actions occur against people in the workforce, there is a chance for remediation through the law.

Woman works 14 years and is passed over for full-time employment

When you are the type of person who is looking for more than a job, but instead strive for a career, you put hard work into making sure you are not going to be dispensable to the company. If you have done your part to work toward promotion and you have made that desire for promotion known, it isn't unlikely to expect to be treated as if you are a relevant candidate for other jobs in your field.
